Police Incident and Motor Vehicle Accident Reports
The WLPD Records Division accepts all requests in writing through email or in-person.
This includes requests for video. Please click here for the request form. We do not accept requests over the phone.
Please email your request to records@windsorlockspolice.com.
Helpful information to include:
- the case number if you have it
- incident date, time, location
- type of incident (motor vehicle accident, fraud, larceny, etc.)
- name(s) of parties involved, dates of birth
- if you are an attorney, please indicate who you represent
If you are requesting multiple reports regarding an individual or location, please specify which type of reports you seek as well as the timeframe.
We will acknowledge receipt of your request within four business days and notify you when it is complete.
How long it takes to fulfill a request is dependent on many factors. Some requests can take weeks to complete.
Reports are often not available the day of request. WLPD does not release case reports until the investigation is closed.
Printed copies are 50 cents per page. We accept cash or check; no cards.
There is no charge when a report is sent through email.
Printed copies are available at the Records window during regular business hours. Copies may be picked up after hours in Dispatch only with prior notice.
Please note WLPD complies with Connecticut’s Freedom of Information Act general statutes. FOIA information can be found here.
In doing so, some information may be redacted or unavailable.
